SHORT DESCRIPTION

Talispatra aids in the balance of Kapha and Vata. The plant's leaves are responsible for curing swasa in Ayurveda (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). The dried leaves of the tree are utilised for medicinal purposes since they are sweet, bitter, pungent in flavour, and hot in intensity. Fresh or dried leaves can be used as a tincture, infusion, or confection. They are mostly used to treat upper and lower respiratory tract infections. It is beneficial to the heart, increases hunger, and balances Vata and Kapha.

PRECAUTIONS & SIDE EFFECTS

  • Should be used cautiously by a pitta prakruti person, due to its hot potency.
  • Has an anti-fertility effect.
  • Avoid, if you have ulcers, acid reflux, a burning sensation, or ulcerative colitis.
  • Excessive usage can result in vomiting, fainting, seizures, and a variety of other adverse effects.

HOW TO USE

  • The talispatra powder along with Vasaka leaf juice and honey is given to treat asthma and cough.
  • Dried leaf powder with honey in a dose of 2-3 grams helps to improve appetite.
  • Consume 2-3 grams of leaf powder mixed with an equal amount of Mishri / Rock candy to improve hoarseness in voice, fever and nasal congestion.
  • For fever, malaria, teething, and cough in newborns, fresh leaf juice is administered in a quantity of 5-10 drops in water or mother's milk.
