SHORT DESCRIPTION
 

Pomegranate is light in quality with sweet, sour and astringent taste dominantly. It has a neutral effect on metabolism and helps to reduce Vata, Pitta and Kapha, except if the pomegranate is sour, it will lead to mild aggravation of Pitta dosha.

PRECAUTIONS/ SIDE EFFECTS

  • Use it cautiously, if on any medications for serious illness like Diabetes, High blood pressure, liver disease, kidney disease etc.

HOW TO USE

  • To treat diarrhoea or dysentery, take 10 mL of pomegranate fruit skin decoction three times a day. Fruit can be consumed in large quantities.
  • To get rid of bad breath gargle with a warm decoction made from fruit skin 3-4 times per day.
  • Boil pomegranate skin peels in a glass of water and uses it as a toner to treat acne and acne marks. Apply a paste of seeds to the affected area twice a day.
