SHORT DESCRIPTION

Lavender is thought to contain properties that help all three doshas: vata, pitta, and kapha. Lavender is a relaxing, cooling, and soothing energy that balances the kapha and pitta doshas while stimulating the vata dosha. Its flower and oil have a pleasant aroma and are also used to treat many ailments. Lavender has oil that has relaxing properties and may help to relax some muscles.

  • It is recommended to avoid using lavender during pregnancy and breastfeeding or to see a physician before doing so.
  • Lavender should not be used by persons who have a liver illness (hepatitis, cirrhosis, etc.), children under the age of two, or those who are detoxing from alcohol.

HOW TO USE

  • Lavender herbal tea is made by steeping a few lavender flowers in a cup of water and boiling it for 5 minutes. Drink this tea before bedtime to relieve menses pain and discomfort.
  • Mix 2-3 drops of lavender oil with a carrier oil preferably rosemary oil and massage gently over the scalp, to cure hairfall.
  • Use 2-3 drops of lavender oil with coconut oil and apply over the affected area to cure colicky pain.
