Lemongrass, also known as Bhutrina, is an aromatic herb that has been mentioned in Ayurveda and is widely used to treat skincare and healthcare concerns. It can be consumed in dried, fresh, or powdered form. When taken in excess, it increases Vata. But in general, it balances Vata, Pitta, and Kapha in unison. It stimulates digestion due to its pungent and bitter taste. Its light and drying properties make it an excellent expectorant and aid in the treatment of Kapha. Its cooling properties aid in the reduction of high body temperatures.
